Woden Valley Uniting Church is excited to be able to launch the arresting mural on the western wall of the Church building in Curtin. The Church commissioned Wiradjuri artist Eddie Longford to create a dramatic mural, to express the vision, values and community connection of the Uniting Church in the Woden Valley.

The launch will be held on Sunday November 23, 12 noon at 40 Gillies St Curtin, just across Carruthers St from the Curtin Shops. It will be followed by a light lunch.

Woden Valley Uniting Church has strong connections to the community. Many community groups use its hall and rooms for gatherings, classes and events.

The Church is also engaged with Wesley Mission in the housing project to be built on the corner of Carruthers and Theodore Streets in Curtin, comprising MyHome in Canberra (accommodation for those with enduring mental illness) and designated affordable rental housing.

The Mural depicts the congregation, engaged in worship and in community, all embedded in the local physical environment, notably the Murrumbidgee River, the Brindabellas, and native wildlife including Bogong moths.
