Community Involvement

Members of Woden Valley Uniting Church aim to be active in our support of our local communities.

This webpage gives news and information about several community groups with which members are involved.

The Alchemy Chorus Canberra

Alchemy Chorus Canberra brings together people living with dementia, their relative or close friend, volunteer musicians and singers for a morning of music-making, story-sharing, laughter and fun.

Alchemy Chorus Canberra & Alchemy Chorus South Coast recently gave a fantastic performance in Goulburn.

The Canberra Croquet Club

I have played croquet for around 14 years as a member of the Canberra Croquet Club. I have played competitively, coached and recently trained as a referee. I have been on state teams and played in three world championships in New Zealand, UK and WA. I am just finishing my term as Chair of Croquet NSW (the State Sporting Organisation for NSW and the ACT).

Croquet has given me lots of fun, challenges and adventures, and I am keen to encourage more people to play this great sport!

The Medical Association for Prevention of War (MAPW)

MAPW is a national network of health professionals working for health by working for peace. Several congregation members are also members of the ACT branch of MAPW.

MAPW works to prevent the harms of war and militarism. Its big vision is: a peaceful world with health for all.
